January Auditions: Revenger's Tragedy
|
29 Dec 2009 • The Revenger's Tragedy was written anonymously in 1607. The play was inspired by Hamlet and other similar Italian revenge tragedies. It is at once a dark, violent, and deeply funny play that mocks the violence and corruption of court, the evils of human nature, and ultimately even its own murderous excesses. There is more murder, rape, incest, intrigue, disguise, and revenge then you can shake the skull of your murdered wife at!
Auditions are open to anyone--no previous acting experience is necessary! They will be held: *Wednesday, January 13th, 7-11 pm *Thursday, January 14th, 7-11 pm
Audtions are in the Harnwell Classroom, which is on the mezzanine level of the house. Callbacks, if needed, will be held Friday, January 15th.
If you cannot make these times but would like to audition, or for more information, please contact Andrew Matas at aamatas@gmail.com.

THIS WEEK: TAMING OF THE SHREW!
|
18 Nov 2009 • The Underground Shakespeare Company presents TAMING OF THE SHREW by William Shakespeare
The Underground Shakespeare Company presents The Taming of the Shrew : a modern interpretation of one of the Bard's most problematic plays. Come see the traditional misogynistic comedy transform into a darker piece focusing on the way a human can be "tamed" through mental and physical abuse - although we didn't get rid of all the laughs! With gender switching and a touch of sexual sadism, this play is not for delicate sensibilities, but instead introduces more contemporary issues to make Shakespeare's verse relevant once again.
Thursday, 11/19 @ 8pm $5 admission Friday, 11/20 @ 8pm $5 admission Saturday, 11/21 @ 8pm FREE! with a PennCard
