The Cast and Crew of
OTHELLO

THE PLAYERS
(In alphabetical order)

Lydia Nassima Abdo (Bianca)

lydiaLydia Nassima Abdo will be running for President of the United States in 2024. She'll be running on the first pro-Shakespeare platform since William Henry Harrison ran in 1841. She's Lydia Nassima Abdo, and she approves of this message.

Sarah Akkina (Montano)

sarah Sarah Akkina is probably best remembered for her long running stints as the bottom center square on Hollywood Squares (1978-82) and of course for her quick wit as a regular panalist on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and Match Game '76. This is Sarah's first great Shakesperian role - which she is hoping to develop into a spin-off series, Montano's Crossing.

Devon Anderson (Senator of Venice/Gentlemen of Cyprus)
devonUpon her casting, Devon Anderson was thrilled to become a part of a company where greats such as Laurence Oliver, Maggie Smtih, Brian Cox, Anthony Hopkins and Patrick Stewart had got their start. Then she found out that was the Royal Shakespeare Comapny. After some concideration, she decided this was still pretty good. w

Rebekah Caton (Desdemona)

rebekahRebekah Caton hails from the frosty great white ice fields of Fargo, North Dakota, where she used to ride a Buffalo to and from school each morning.

Jon Cinque (Roderigo)

jonJon Cinque needs to put money is his purse. Please make all donations via check, money order or PayPal.

J. Michael DeAngelis (Othello / Producer)

Michael J. Michael DeAngelis, appearing in the role of "Othello" is also the producer of the piece. Michael would like to assure everyone that he did not sleep with himself to win the part. He did however have an amazing weekend with himself in the Hamptons, wining and dining himself until he agreed to take the role.

Gaelle Gouraige (Emilia)

GaelleGaelle Gouraige has suffered a lot at the hands of the Underground Shakespeare Company. After very bloody times in Titus Andronicus, she was the receiving end of much nastiness from both Kenny Pearce AND Aaron Dinkin in Much Ado About Nothing. That's why she is so thankful to be playing Emila, the loving wife of honest, gentle Iago. (Just watch out for that dagger...)

Serena Halley (Iago)

SerenaFor years, Serena Halley played a game on her old Mac called Iago. Imagine her surprise when she discovered that it was just the Mac name for the classic game Othello. There's an allegory in that somewhere.

Christopher Johnson (Cassio)

chris Chris Johnson, after having made a career playing Shakespearian villians and clowns, is now set to win America's heats on ABC's newest hit, Shakespeare with the Stars. He faces fierce competiton from William Shatner, Suzanne Sommers and loveable Dakota Fanning, but Las Vegas odd-makers say Chris Johnson is the one to beat!

Maura Krause (Ludovico)

mauraMaura Krause was the executive producer of the short lived television program, Two Guys, A Girl, William Shakespeare and a Pizza Place. She is currently developing a retolled version of that show for HBO, tentatively called Sex and the Shakespeare.

Kenny Pearce

KennyKenny Pearce is a student of computer science, dead languages, and  the fundamental nature of reality. Yes he can tell you how  many angels can dance on a transistor (exactly 372, and don't ask me how I know; it's a suitably basic belief). If you're really nice he might even explain it in ancient Greek. Or C++. Or symbolic logic. Or Christianese. Kenny has been with the company for three years. He  used to play kind, innocent characters until he was cast as Lucius in Titus Andronicus and became Alex Lapinski's angry Shakespeare apprentice. Now, he is told, he was "born to be a crotchety old man."  Kenny would like to thank Alex for helping him find his own pent up  rage and release it destructively while screaming iambic pentameter.

Joshua Yap (The Duke of Venice)

josh Joshua Yap is taking time off from his experiments with highly explosive materials to appear in Othello. Joshua is surprisingly the only member of the company who currently has a licence to kill.

THE PRODUCTION STAFF

Rachel Aronson (Director)

rachelRachel Aronson, after knocking out King Lear's Oswald and winning the "merry war" against Much Ado's Benedick, is the undisputed Heavy Weight Champion of the Bard. In what is sure to be the match of the century, Rachel is hoping to go the distance with that titan of Cyprus, Othello.

Allison Johnson (Director)

allisonUntil just recently, Allison Johnson believed she was directing a radical new production of Chicago. Though it turned out to be a Shakesperian drama rather than a splashy Broadway musical, Ms. Johnson is hoping to tour Europe with her new hybrid version - Othello: The King of Broadway - A Razzle Dazzle Musical Spectacular.

Mike Reali (Production Artist)

realiMike Reali, is the author George Lucas: Man or Machine?, the controversial best sellar that theorizes the famous film director was replaced by an animatronic robot in 1995. After creating the poster art for USC's King Lear, Reali found himself as the most requested Shakespearian poster artist in the greater 19104 zip code area. After taking six months off to film Paramont Pictures upcoming epic Roget's Thesaurus: The Movie, Mr. Reali accepted the comission to produce the poster for Othello, which he hopes will be the first in a series of posters, to be followed by Monopoly, Sorry! and Ants in My Pants. Mr. Reali lives with his wife and sixteen children/puppies on the Isle of Mann in the United Kingdom.
